The Witness
Conceptual Installation
The Witness does not try to tell people which country, ideology, or side they are supposed to support.
What matters here is much simpler: ordinary people are usually the ones who have to live with what violence leaves behind.
Imagined as a temporary installation on Santa Monica Beach, the work places words and traces across the sand as people move through the site. Nothing is permanent. The tide slowly returns and begins to erase them.
Eventually, almost everything disappears.
That disappearance is part of the work. Something happened. Someone witnessed it. And yet the evidence can still vanish.
