BOOK AS OBJECT
Bookmaking
This project was developed as part of a school course focused on making a physical portfolio by hand.
I designed and assembled the book myself, including the cover, binding, laser-cut details, and printed pages. I also experimented with making paper by hand and testing different materials, textures, and thicknesses.
The final result is a handmade portfolio that brings together the graphic layout and the physical construction of the book.

Paper making, framing, and hand binding explore the physical construction of the book. Through testing different materials, textures, and thicknesses, the process examines how each layer contributes to structure and sequencing.
The frame establishes boundaries and support, while the binding connects individual pages into a continuous system. Together, these operations shift the book from a passive container into a constructed object, where making and representation become inseparable.
